The correct direction of rotation for the risograph is an important topic that cannot always be considered in the printing process, as the subject being printed may require further processing. Due to the print method, the most suitable ones are papers in long grain direction, meaning they were produced in the print direction. Papers in short grain are more likely to cause paper jams, especially if the papers are very thin, causing them to get stuck on the drum of the colour cylinder. To order papers with the right direction, it is always advisable to create a dummy and an outline sketch for all projects that require any more bookbinding processes in order to calculate how many sheets can be separated from the large sheet.
